Joshua Francesco Hoareau is a multi-award-winning filmmaker, founder of Cinestudios, and based on the Gold Coast, Queensland — working with clients across Australia. A graduate of Deakin University with a Bachelor's degree in Film and Digital Media, his career began with the sci-fi short Arrival — which won a series of festival awards and caught the attention of American producer Andrew Cosby (Hellboy, 2 Guns, Eureka).
From there Joshua continued building a body of work that earned him honorary membership in the Australian Directors Guild and led to the production of The Great Conjunction — a film made for the Jim Henson Company, set within the world of The Dark Crystal.
Joshua then moved to Los Angeles for several years, working across the United States on projects including Oakside Park. After returning to Australia, he produced and directed the superhero series Impulse (based on the DC Comics character) and the film Hells Kitchen, which won one of the world's largest film festivals and qualified for Academy Award, BAFTA, and Canadian Screen Award nominations — now streaming on Amazon, Apple TV, and Google TV.
Joshua is currently in pre-production on his feature film Silence Falls, with additional international features in development.
